Teddy da Bear 11 #13 Posted June 5, 2008 Bob.....it has an airconditioner. It is internal. "She" waves a fan over me and brings me a cold soda! I never drink. But seriously we have a free standing portable airconditioner. I just need to find a really cool way to vent it so they don't know I am running an airconditioner at the r.v. parks....lol

CasualObserver 3,411 #15 Posted June 6, 2008 If your freestanding a/c is anything like the one we have... that vent puts out some heat... not really anywhere to go but out the top or on a sidewall with some dryer vent tubing and vent. You wouldn't want any rain or other debris getting in there.
Teddy da Bear 11 #16 Posted June 6, 2008 Actually I was thinking out the floor somewhere. Perhaps in a hidden corner I have in there created where two base cupboards come together and create a void under the countertop. I am still brain storming this though. CasualObserver 3,411 #17 Posted June 6, 2008 The floor would keep it nice and hidden, just have to watch out for debris, or screen it really well, and clean the screen often. Wherever you end up venting... try to keep your vent duct as short as possible. It will radiate heat like a chimney.
Teddy da Bear 11 #18 Posted June 6, 2008 That is something that the airconditioning manufacture already recommends. Keep the run "short". I think I will plumb in a permanent tube behind the cupboard and out the floor. I already have a trailer-style door with a key I would use to cover it up. Just like I did the trailer fuse panel and power cord (drops out the bottom). I would then get an adapter at the other end of the tube and just attach the tube from the airconditioner directly to the permanent tube and adapter.

Teddy da Bear 11 #20 Posted June 7, 2008 Thanks Duke. I guess that makes me an "unlicensed" installer.....
HorseFixer 2,013 #21 Posted June 7, 2008 There are alot of those out there mike! and in my travels from what Ive seen it shows. One thing no one has mentioned, is the fact that you will need two pipes properly sized running to this unit. (Do you know the CFM required? and the static of the ductwork?) All of this needs to be determined to bring the correct outside air in across the condenser, and then discharge the exhaust (transferred heated air) to the exterior. As in any refrigeration process refrigeration is the transfer of heat from a place where it is not wanted (in your case inside the trailer) to place where it is un-object able (outdoors). Good luck! Nick 13 #22 Posted June 7, 2008 Duke, The trailer looks great. Those declas really set it off. As I rode in our former ambulance truck yeterday a thought of your trailer gave me an idea. I bet Terry could make some kind of Wheel Horse Ambulance decals or something. Have to give that some thought.
