Should I by this

Recommended Posts

I have a 875 wheelhorse hydrostatic garden tractor for sale, Runs and drives great. Tires in good shape, some small cracks but all hold air. Recently painted. NOT hacked, no corners cut. Original decals and 8hp kohler engine in good shape. Everything works, charges well. Recent oil change, both engine and trans+filter. The engine smokes a little but what do you want for a 40+ year old tractor. Built heavier and stronger than any new junk you can buy today at home depot. I have a wheelhorse snowplow i can add in for more. Its in good shape but has not been painted. Price is firm. Worth much more than im asking, but i need the room. Email any more questions. 400.00

:woohoo:

that seems like a fair price for the tractor (does it come with a mower deck?). looks to be in really great shape for the year. that is one of the earlier hydro's and i honestly don't know much about them but if it has a strong transmission that seems like a solid deal. It the engine smokes, it may need new rings or it could be something smaller like a valve seal, half of my tractors smoke a little, doesn't hurt the performance at all you just smell like exhaust after you are done using the tractor.

as everyone on here is going to say, the tractor is worth what you are willing to spend, a good deal to someone could be high to someone else. it all comes down to how bad you want it, but personally i don't think its to bad.

pretty much anything you can imagine, i think they used to advertise at least 20 factory attachments. go through the photo section on attachments, you will get an idea of what kind of attachments wheel horse had

:ROTF: Another point...if it is an 875, and it looks like it, it is a 1965 year horse...not a 1967. :woohoo: Looks nice, but almost anything that has been repainted does. I agree with Justin...worth checking out...see how it works. :D

I'm a little confused :woohoo: . Your first post says you're selling it " price is firm $400" and your next post say's you're buying attachments for it. Is it coming or going? :D

hmmm he edited the post since yesterday, what is posted now looks to be word for word from the original craigslist listing.... maybe he was trying to post that so you didn't have to click the CL link? :woohoo:

$400 seems fair. If it had a mower deck the price would be great.

If you want a60's vintage machine? I'd say go get it.

Or do you want a wheel horse for everyday use in maintaining your property? If this is the case with a little patience you could find a newer C or 300 series with a mower deck for a similar price.

Good luck with your purchase

To clear things up - his original post included a link to the CL ad, which is against RS rules. I edited the post to remove the link. He came back later and edited the post again to add the wordage from the ad.

A side note here, when a moderator edits a post, DO NOT RE-EDIT the post again. It leads to confusion just like this one did. Post a reply instead.
