Suburban 400

hi everyone! Im restoring a suburban 400 it belonged to my late uncle. can anyone tell me the way the hood was supposed to be connected to the firwall in front. This one has 3/8 threaded rod need help bad obviously!!! lol :woohoo:

A 400 would use two 1/4-20 bolts to hold the hood to the "ears" of the hoodstand (firewall)

Wallfish thanks a lot!!! Im not sure i have these ears but i will double check.

This had two holes drilled down through the hoodstand-firewall will nuts and washers on the 3/8 all thread. what to do if there are no ears!? :woohoo:

Can you post some pics of your tractor? It would make things easier if we could see it.

Here's a link to "Finding you way around Red Square". You should see a thread that explains how to post pics and lots of other useful stuff. The pic thing seems complicated but once you get it, it's fairly easy.

Here is a link to the 400s in the picture gallery here on RS. There should only be 2 bolts on the side that hold the hood to the stand and one down the bottom front that holds it to the frame.

If you end up needing a firewall/steering support, I have one, from a 400 that was parted out.
