Coors 0 #1 Posted June 20, 2011 I am in the market for new tires for my 520H. I live in the midwest with only 5 or 6 significant snow falls. I want to be able to push snow or dirt around the yard when needed with my snow/dirt plow. Mainly use the 520 for mowing, but was thinking of Carlisle Super Lug 23 x 10.5 x 12 with tubes and fluid. I can get the for $270 out the door at our local FS. What is the best all around tire? I would like a in between a turf saver and a super lug. The super lugs just look mean! rexman72 210 #2 Posted June 20, 2011 if your not pushing tons of snow you might get by with Ag tires.I use chains on both tractors because maine gets belted with alot of snow.
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #3 Posted June 20, 2011 I hear these are a decent general purpose tire (but have never tried them personally): Carlisle All-Trail
littleredrider 409 #4 Posted June 20, 2011 I have lugs on my ranger, tho only 18" they are fine for mowing. There are some hills, and can stop in the middle, back up or go forward without spinning or tearing up the yard. My mother has a JD 425 with 23" ags, same there. After all this rain the lawn is still wet, and doesn't tear it up. I bought a set of Ags from Tractor Supply, (23x10.5x12 $99 each), plan on putting them on the 854 for possible snow duties. They are only 2 ply, but buddy has a 425 with a loader with two ply's, he beats the snot out of his tractor, only thing wrong with them is cracking from being outside. He blew out front tires, but never the rear.
