IthacaJeff 151 #1 Posted June 17, 2011 WH'ers; Some of you have been interested in seeing the lift cable set up for a tiller without using the under-seat rockshaft. It is difficult to get the exact right length, but it can work. On my 310-8 I also set up a limiting chain to limit the depth of the tiller. 310s do not have a lock out on the manual lift lever, so it it either up or down, no stops. In the pics below the lift cable is attached to a chain then attached to the tiller. Another chain connects from a hole in the seat support to the same attachment point on the tiller. This serves as a depth limiter. I really did not want to limit the depth, but the 310 bogged down in my packed clay if I went too deep. The helper spring should be attached lower as per the manual, but the spring I bought was not the right size for a proper attachment.
