Picked up this little tractor in east Central Ohio....

Set in a garage for 10 years, after a couple hours got it running.

Runs great!

What is it???

How do you check the transmission gear lube?? No dip stick or plug on top of tranny.

I'm going to say 1968 Commando 6. (no tag under the dash?)

Tranz oil level should be just below the top of the hole at the left rear corner. Look for the square-headed pipe plug.

I'd also say Commando 6. (although it could be a Workhorse 700 or a 500 Special too) If you zoom the picture, it looks like the tag might be there. If not, there is a tag on the engine shroud, you could check that number. I don't think the Commando 6 or Workhorse 700 wouldn't have had a battery, but the 500 Special might have.

Yes it has a tag, but it is hard to read, best I can make out is ....

1374

531945

Paint is original, but on stickers... I got it from the original owner, he said that they just fell off over time.

His dad bought it new and did not remember what model it is.

It has been in a old garage for 10 years, I actually got it running last night.

Runs good and tranny works good as well.

It's a 1969 Workhorse 700 then. Either a 1-3741 or 1-3745.
