rmaynard 16,344 #1 Posted June 16, 2011 Whenever I hear a rumor about something, I try to go to the horse's mouth (no pun intended) and get an answer. So after reading the thread stating that Toro would be discontinuing Wheel Horse parts after 2015, I contacted Toro and received the following statement: June 15, 2011 Dear Robert Maynard, Thank you for taking the time to contact the Toro Company. We understand your concern over the availability of parts for your Wheel Horse unit. We have not made any plans to discontinue selling Wheel Horse parts. As long as parts are in stock we will be selling them. We value you as a Toro Customer. Please know that you have an open invitation to contact us at any time. Sincerely, Annice B. IthacaJeff 151 #3 Posted June 16, 2011 The response said they would continue selling them as long as they were in stock. It did NOT say they would continue making them. Jeff in Enfield NY
rmaynard 16,344 #4 Posted June 16, 2011 I doubt they have been making them for some time now. That is why so many parts are listed as NLA.

SNYFIX 13 #8 Posted June 16, 2011 Interesting. It has been said in the past that they only have to carry the parts for 10 years after discontinuing a line. (Unless the tractor company goes into bankruptcy which is not the case here). So the line was discontinued in 2005 so 2015 would be about right. This information came from a Toro dealer in this area BTW.
SNYFIX 13 #9 Posted June 16, 2011 --- and of course we all know that yes, at this time many parts ARE available (and many are not) but look at Toro.com's prices for parts !!
SNYFIX 13 #10 Posted June 17, 2011 ---Oh -- something else -- -- -- Based on our very recent expeariance, Toro might be having a quality control issue with it's parts vendors as well. We went to TWO different dealers to get the same part. Both identical parts were defective in one way or another. We chose the least defective one because it would be the least one to affect the customers quality of cut. Like a above poster says, they will SELL them as long as they have them but that does'nt mean they're going to MAKE them !!
