jdog_kustoms 82 #1 Posted June 15, 2011 i just got a 655 wheel hotrse and was wondering if the motor on it is the right one i doenst have the same numbers as the spec sheets i have but i dont know if it is a sutable replacement or just a older snow blower engine the model number is h60-75335h and the seriel number is 1179r
SousaKerry 503 #2 Posted June 15, 2011 not sure on the spec number sure others will chime in but the h60 is correct I have been working on the same tractor all spring. it is nearly complete now actually drove it around the yard on one bowl full of gas the other day. I have some float issues to work out yet and somehow I managed to hook up my throttle backwards 655 restore
jdog_kustoms 82 #3 Posted June 15, 2011 does your motor have the gas tank hgooked to it??? i thought they tank should be on the dash part
jdog_kustoms 82 #4 Posted June 15, 2011 here are some pics it will probelly end up at the show
SousaKerry 503 #5 Posted June 15, 2011 looks like she has had a rough life. Gas tank and tin on the engine look original although mine had an aluminum pull start housing. That carb looks kinda weird wonder what the square box on the fuel intake is for? :hide:
stevasaurus 23,285 #6 Posted June 15, 2011 The spec number should be #75117D. Like was said...the H60 is the right size for that tractor. :hide:
jdog_kustoms 82 #7 Posted June 16, 2011 any one know were to look up the specs of this motor or is is close enoghe for a 655 or 656 tractor and pics of others tractors with this style motor with this style motor on it would be a gbig help or one with the factory motor
stevasaurus 23,285 #8 Posted June 16, 2011 All I could find is that the spec number identifies the proper parts for that engine, and the last 3 numbers tell the variation from the basic engine. I know...not much help. :hide:
racinfool40 203 #9 Posted June 16, 2011 To answer Sousa's Question the square thing on the carb is the vacuum style fuel pump. You don't see to many mounted that way any more but is correct!!
Kelly 1,033 #10 Posted June 16, 2011 Sears mounted the fuel pumps like that on lots of stuff, my 656 does not have a fuel pump, I don't think they came with fuel pumps, and the gas tank is correct, yours is like my tank it has the tall fill neck that will work in the lawn rangers that stick up through the hood. puddlejumper 67 #11 Posted June 16, 2011 Is it mounted correctly, Reason I ask is I have a 655 roller and one of those tanks with a shortneck that I have been considering putting a h60 I have all together just to make a running tractor. When I got the tank it was strapped in the dash tower of a HIGHLY modified commando 8.
jdog_kustoms 82 #12 Posted June 16, 2011 should a 655 or 656 be only pull start or electric also
puddlejumper 67 #13 Posted June 16, 2011 They are definetly electric start. And I think pull start as well.

wheelhorse656 20 #15 Posted June 16, 2011 They are definetly electric start. And I think pull start as well. actually they had a screen mounted on where the pull starter is. you could take that screen off and there was a spot for a rope to fitt on the inner screen like on a "rope start" briggs.
