Kohler Magnum M12

Hi everyone,

The carburetor on my 312-8 is leaking pretty bad. I'm looking to find the correct carb kit I need to do a rebuild on the carb. I've seen different kits for sale for my carb but I need to be sure which one I need. The carb is a walbro with fixed main jet. The engine is a Kohler Magnum 12 HP.

Can someone give me a link to the correct kit I need?

Hi Pieter,

I am seeing what you are and came away confused.

I saw no available kits for a Kohler carb. There are kits for what looks like a fixed jet but they don't mention the manufacturer. It may help our experts here if you have a year and serial number of the tractor and the Spec Number of the magnum engine.

What BooVuc said makes a lot of sense, looking for model/serial/spec numbers on the tractor and engine. But it may also be possible that your Walbro isn't the original carb on this engine, I would look for identifying marks and numbers on the carb itself, maybe just inside the throat and elsewhere, might give you some clues.

Hi Pieter-Jan,

I agree with the guys here. Check your Carb first. All serial and Model number info is stamped on the Bolting Flange, either on top or underneath.

I don't believe there is any difference in the contents of a Kohler/Walbro Carb Kit for either Fixed or Adjustable Main Jet Needle Carbs .

I have found a place in the UK for you that sells Genuine Kohler/Walbro Carb Kits for Magnum 12s, but not sure if they ship outside UK?. They also charge UK
