papaglide 542 #1 Posted June 11, 2011 I checked this out yesterday and pretty much everything was fine on it. Got it today, cut some grass with it and like it a lot. Very glad that I bought it. Might want to eventually get a bigger deck for it. With the 42 inch deck I got with her, it took quite a while to cut my 2+ acres. Very impressed with the tractor. Cody 277 #3 Posted June 11, 2011 I Believe by looking at the decals you will find that this is a 1996 50th anniversary edition. Very nice clean tractor :hide:
papaglide 542 #4 Posted June 11, 2011 Cody, right on bro! There is a 50th anniversary sticker below the seat, between the legs. Serial number is 6900496 which has it made in 1996. I got the original manual with it: the PO bought it in December 1997. Get this: for $4485! It is a very clean, well kept, one owner tractor. He bought a zero turn and got rid of this. His loss, my gain! :hide:
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,539 #5 Posted June 11, 2011 Mike, Nice pick up ! I agree trying to mow 2 acres with the 42 incher will take way too long.
papaglide 542 #6 Posted June 12, 2011 Right on Stevebo! I used to cut the grass with a cub super and a 50" deck..quick but the finish wasn't great due to undulations and many shrubs and crap. Picked up another IH Cub with a 44" deck and the finish was like a golf course!. This WH 42" finish was like a golf course. Me thinks a Wheel Horse 48" would be ideal! Thanks man! :hide:
