HY-2/3 differences

I have a complete HY-2 hydro lift setup off a 702. That tractor is long gone, want to put it on my 854. I took the arm off the 854 and pivot rod thingy, and it's not the same diameter as the 854. Thinking that the tower is different from the 702 and the 854, tho they looked the same.

What is the difference between the HY-2 and the HY-3?? I thought they were the same thing just a different number....

You actually answered your own question(s).

The HY-2 was designed to work with the 1962 models and the HY-3 had the necessary changes to work with the 1963 models.

The HY-3 can also be used on the 1964 754 & 854.

I knew that part. I'm hoping I can still get the dash off the 702 that the unit came off, inless someone knows another way. I was gonna weld up any holes in the tower (bunch of holes in there anyways) and grind the weld off the 854 lift arm so I can use it's attachment arm, and weld the hydro stuff to that.

If I'd known, I would have kept the tower off the 702 :hide:

Yes Steve the HY-2 will fit the 701, the Hy kits started in 62 but the tower where it matters is the same on the 701 as the 702, but a HY-3 kit will not fit with out changing the rockshaft, and adding the key switch box

wow where this thread come from?? I have the HY-2 on my 854. I used a 702 dash, as the 854 had a crack in it anyways. And as mentioned the rockshaft is different size. Still need to put the seal kit in it....
