sned 15 #1 Posted June 10, 2011 Just picked this up when I randomly spotted it. My first tractor. I don't plan on working it hard but will be nice to not have to shovel dirt and mulch. Would like to add a 3pt hitch so I can quickly attach and detach the weight box on the back.
rmaynard 16,344 #2 Posted June 10, 2011 Very nice. I can only dream of owning a front end loader. :hide:
jdog_kustoms 82 #3 Posted June 10, 2011 i had a front end loader on a raider 10 i loved it but tried to do to much and busted the rear but i think i only did that from haveing duals on the rear but they are one handle peice of equipment but i sold mine for a bobcat
kloe0699 12 #4 Posted June 10, 2011 Very nice setup. I would love to have one. I keep borrowing my friends kubota and for most of the stuff I do around the yard I could do it with one of those :hide:

dgoyette 12 #6 Posted June 10, 2011 Great 1st Wheel horse! Welcome to Redsquare and please share more photos when you get a chance.
sned 15 #7 Posted June 13, 2011 Here are some additional pictures. Determined it can lift quite a bit. Probably the weakest point is the front end. I probably will beef it up with a set of 1200 pound hubs and 1 inch spindles.
dennist 139 #8 Posted June 13, 2011 I really like your set-up. The 1" spindles will be a great up-grade. How much weight on the back, it looks quite heavy?
sned 15 #9 Posted June 13, 2011 About 400 pounds. It slides into a class three hitch receiver which does not make it easy to remove. I either need to set up a winch or put a hydraulic lift on the back so it can be removed much quicker. I think the rear is not stock. The kid told me it had bigger axles because the original rear couldn't handle it. He was big into pulling tractors. He had a lot of wheel horse machines laying around and a lot of parts. Nick 13 #10 Posted June 13, 2011 Nice looking loader and I see it has a joystick control that might be nice. First thing I always mention is to make some forks. The bucket might get much of the work but forks come in handy for moving things around. Forks tend to keep the weight closer to the tractor putting less stress on it and allowing for a bit more capacity. They arent always cheap to buy but many of us have used suitcase weights on the rear. Suitcase weights are much easier to handle when it comes time to remove them or add more weight. sned 15 #11 Posted June 13, 2011 It actually came with a set of forks. :hide:
dennist 139 #12 Posted June 13, 2011 You should be able to measure the rear axle size just by taking a tape and looking at the tire, the axle is visible in the center of the hub. If it is 1" then it has not been up graded, but if it is 1 1/8" then it has been. The weight must be very difficult to take off and put on like that!
sned 15 #13 Posted June 13, 2011 That confirms it than. He showed me they were inch and an 1/8 when I bought it. I thought he was just blowing smoke because I had concerns it couldn't handle the weight. Was this an option for my model or did he take it out of something else? The 310-8 was offered only with the 1" rear axles I believe. He probably pulled a tranny off a 400-series machine. Good swap-out, especially with a loader! ~Duff
dobeleo 7 #15 Posted June 14, 2011 Question: How is the hydraulic pump driven for this? How is it driven? Where is the resevoir for the oil? How much does it hold? Neat Machine! Dan Shorewood, IL
sned 15 #16 Posted June 14, 2011 It's a fairly simple setup. Right in front if the engine behind the grill sits the hydraulic pump. A belt off the second pulley runs right to it. You will see in the one picture showing the hydraulic fluid filter it is tapped right into the main support. That is the tank. There is an air breather at the top of the tower. I only plan to move dirt and snow but in terms of lift strength it will lift a full bucket of dirt.
sned 15 #17 Posted June 15, 2011 I have been offered a 520h front end complete to beef up my front end. Anyone do this swap? Any unforseen problems?
Stigian 1,234 #18 Posted June 15, 2011 Welcome to RedSquare I like the loader, one of those would come in very handy at times I think (but not 100% sure) that the 520H front end is a straight swap, it will certainly be a good upgrade.
