horse junkie 18 #1 Posted June 10, 2011 So I'm pushing dirt with the 1276 the other day and then it will barely move in forward but i did notice the shift lever goes all the way forward and hits the bracket that holds the pto lever and the indicator dissapears it moves fine in reverse. I haven't really investigated it yet but would assume it's a linkage issue and thoughts. :)

can whlvr 994 #4 Posted June 11, 2011 you will have to lift the rear wheels on blocks, take the linkage apart and test the action of the pump by hand, take off the plastic plate and move the cam to see if the wheels move forward and reverse, you need to stert the tractor to do this,be carefull not to have the machine fall off the stands or what ever you use to get the rears up off the ground,it sounds like some sort of linkage issue, this will eliminate the pump or the cam that moves up and down to move the tractor as the problem, then go over the parts and look at the plastic plate carefully,it does wear out and it seems that it doesnt take much wear to screw up its movement,i had to shim the ball you talked about because it kept coming out of the plastic plate when the tractor would get twisted a little like on side hills, good luck and let us know what you find
