mrc 955 #1 Posted June 8, 2011 hello all, recently got a bronco 14. runs and moves under its own power. has rearend leak. i will investigate that. being a hydro i would like to mow with it. how good/bad is the electric pto? i'm use to the manual pto on a "C" 3,4,500 series. i think being able to gradually engage the manual pto would be better but, i would appreciate your experiences/thoughts. what do i have to do to upgrade to tach-a-matic for the newer style decks?? thank you. mike in mass. jdog_kustoms 82 #2 Posted June 8, 2011 what year bronco cuase the 72 have the start or the front quick attach but the 71 do not and you would have to do the same thing like on the older chargers and all and use a front quick attach and weld to tabs on it to bolt it to the frame and the mid quick attach is as simple as removing and reinstalliing 6 bolts to change to the new style att a mattic and the older deck will work in the newer attach a mattic set up i am using my old deck on my bronco 14 and it has the front and mid quick attach if this is not clear let me know i can get pics of my tractor
jdog_kustoms 82 #3 Posted June 8, 2011 also the electric clutches are ok but most people change them to the manual style pto on the chargers and raiders that is how mine is this is becuase they are so expensive to replace once they go bad
bigd 0 #4 Posted June 8, 2011 use the electric till it dies the go to a manual.they are obsolete and even used ones are expensive i need one for my gt14 the two i could find expensive.the one on my raider10 has been working fine since 1971.chances are that clutch will out last all of us. JUSS10 250 #5 Posted June 8, 2011 not to hijack but bigd, you brought up the point of needing the clutch for your GT14, mine too is shot so i haven't used anything that needs the PTO on it, can a manual clutch he used on GT14 or isn't that possible?
bigd 0 #7 Posted June 13, 2011 i think it is i took the clutch off my raider it was electric but my gt has hole drilled in the dash column that looks like someone had a mechanical pto on it you would need one of the old ones that had that had the long handle that ran all the way to the engine.if you want an electic pm me and i'll get you in touch with the guy i found hes a rs member.
