mr.pipes 4 #1 Posted June 6, 2011 I was trying to find a part # for a belt for my 420LSE. I entered my model on Partstree and it shows #7473 but it says "Drive Belt 8-Speeds Only". But there is a hydro cooling fan in the drawing also. I got the same info on TORO parts viewer. Same info when I tried for a 417-A. Does the hydro use the same belt as an 8-spd? I cannot picture an 8-spd with the guard off. Thanks for any help
mcwh1950 2 #2 Posted June 6, 2011 Mr pipes All assembly drawing are not right. Some of the drawings are use for both the 8 speed and hydro just like the drawing for some decks.(we know that there is no 8 speed 420lse, but if you find one it will be a rare rare find.) The belt you need is p/n 108501 82" x 5/8. The 7473 is used on the 8 speed tractors. The belt is 81" x 5/8. The part list on toro show two differ belt for the 417a one is the 108501 item number 6,if you scroll down until the number start over you will see part 7473 items number 6 again. Hope this help some.

mr.pipes 4 #4 Posted June 7, 2011 The belt you need is p/n 108501 82" x 5/8. The 7473 is used on the 8 speed tractors. The belt is 81" x 5/8. Hope this help some. Thank you. I guess I will just go off the part # and stop reading into it so much. I used the model # from a 1986 417-A and that only listed the 7473. I was curious where you got the # so I looked with a 1985 417-A and that year listed both belts. Just curious where you got the belt length from? I looked at the link below that I found on RedSquare and the lengths are different. Not much, but still different. Like I said, I am just going to use the part number you gave me but just wanted to point it out. http://outdoorpowerinfo.com/belts/toro_belts.asp
mcwh1950 2 #5 Posted June 7, 2011 I used the same belt web site, but I used the wheel horse and not toro. http://outdoorpowerinfo.com/belts/wheel_horse_belts.asp On the drawing from toro for the 1986 417a look at part number 5 item number it is the belt number. :hide:
