Thanks john I went in plumbing section at home.depot its a.pipe clamp I.believe 1/2 or 3/4 inch with one hole with threads then used an I hook.

That conduit clamp does not look like it will hold up very well.

I did the same sort of thing but opened up the end of the

spring and hooked it over the cross bar.

Clamp is very strong including I have I bolt taped into the rod.
