305 380 #1 Posted May 30, 2011 this may sound kinda dumb.....but from what i have been able find out on the internet the original engine for my 68 lawn ranger should be an aluminum H60. says H60 on the tag on the blower shroud. but the block is definitely cast iron , a magnet sticks to it so did someone in the past install a cast iron short block , or did it come from the factory that way? is that a HH60? thanks for any help
SousaKerry 503 #2 Posted May 30, 2011 sure sounds like someone transplanted a hh60 probably from a troybuilt tiller
305 380 #3 Posted May 30, 2011 thanks for the info. if the engine is from a troy built what size should the crankshaft be? it's 1" diameter and 3" long. does anyone know what size the crankshaft in a H60 on a Lawn ranger should be?
Gene_S 93 #4 Posted May 30, 2011 The original engine in any lawn ranger with a H60 was a 1.00 inch shaft.
Kelly 1,033 #5 Posted May 31, 2011 sounds like a replacment engine, HH mean heavy duty Horizontal shaft, if it was a single H it is the standard duty block that is alum. this stands true for all Tuckys
