wheel boy 0 #1 Posted May 29, 2011 Hello, I bought this wheelhorse today for $250. It has a Newton 3.5 4cyl that I hate. It took me a while to get it started but then figured that you have to put the throttle lever(which is a foot pedal on mine) up then it fired. I had it Idealing for awhile then It went up in revs then shut off. Could this be because it flooded with gas from all the pulls? Anthony Wouls like ti find the original engine for it and steering wheel. Does anybody have one or know of one.
C-Series14 15 #3 Posted May 29, 2011 a 4 cylinder engine or a 4 cycle?
wallfish 16,058 #4 Posted May 29, 2011 It's kinda tough to ID a tractor going by the info you gave. The only info is that it has the wrong motor and you need a steering wheel. Charliesd250 has repro steering wheels for the older Pond RJs.
wheel boy 0 #5 Posted May 30, 2011 It's a 4cycle single cylinder. Anthony Attached Image

Jake Kuhn 1,547 #12 Posted May 30, 2011 The belt guard would be a solid piece that doesen't have a grate on it. How does the foot throttle work?
VinsRJ 721 #13 Posted May 30, 2011 Like stated above its either a RJ58 or RJ59... Most likely a RJ58. On the top of the trans near the shifter there may be some casted numbers, post them up if they are there. BTW, a 1957 RJ35 would have "Wheel Horse" stamped into the hood. VinsRJ 721 #17 Posted May 31, 2011 Anthony, RJ35s do come up for sale from time to time. You have to search everday via all mediums.... Craigslist, ebay, tag sales....... As for motors if you want a Clinton get in contact with Charlie Pitcher (charlied250) here on RS or get in contact with Joe Papke. Joe would have the proper Kohler or even Clinton.
