tarcoleo 119 #1 Posted May 25, 2011 I recently bought a 48" deck and noted that corrosion was most severe in the rear left corner of the deck close to the 6" wheel mount. The rest of the deck was fine and needed no patchwork. I have two other 48" decks in service and have found since that grass clips under wet conditions collect heavily in this same location, probably because air velocity is lowest at this site and allows buildup. So now after every mowing I make it a point to clean that area of the deck. Hope this helps. Tom in RI
cheesegrader 433 #2 Posted May 26, 2011 I've got the same issue with both my decks. Internal corrosion on the left rear from grass rot, made worse by external dings. The left side of the decks seem to have had more issues with scraping. The right side gets protection from the discharge chute. Another example of bad things that happen when you drink and drive!
