Need help with 1974 42 inch deck part cross

I have a guy who is looking for part number 102776 which the look up shows is a spindle housing for a 73,74 and 75 42 inch side discharge mower deck. The part is no longer available. His actual spindle has the center bolt and 2 side centering pins through the blade. I wanted to know if a newer spindle housing from a 42 inch deck will work?
