520h clevis hitch lift cable tube plugged up

Recommended Posts

The 520 h I bought has a cable dangling down under its belly. This cable is supposed to go thru a tube on the rear end and lift the clevis hitch on back. It is plugged up with dirt, and upon cleaning it out with a piece of wire, a small part of a chainsaw file came out the forward side... :hide: I kept cleaning, but no more dirt is coming out, and I'm sure there is more of this brittle metal jammed inside. :WRS: My wire keeps getting file scratches on it. I knew from first inspection that the tube is not straight throughout, but has a bend on the back side. Any ideas on how to unstop this would be appreciated. Tried air, too.

Could try a hose with a good nozzle or a pressure washer with a 0degree nozzle

Can you see anything looking from either end with a flashlight?

I am guessing the piece of chainsaw file wasn't discovered because the PO stored it there. Probably used one to clear a blockage as well and jammed it in to attempt to clear it. There could be another piece stuck in there or the inside could have been damaged from all the cleaning attempts.

You could try a spring tubing bender (see pic) that is the same size as the inside OD the tube.

Or cut it open lenght wise? :hide:
