persof 14 #1 Posted May 16, 2011 I have a C-161a that I am fixing up and the connectors that go into the lift cylinder leak turning the deck into a grease pie. With a new belt this must be fixed but so far all who say "bring the hose in" also say "those connectors are a funny size". Jack's does not have them and my local WH dealer does not ether. Any Ideas Thanks Francis Attached Image
Butch 194 #2 Posted May 16, 2011 Some people here will say NAPA. I took the hoses from my C-175 and had them made at a Hydraulic shop. HOWEVER the 2 90 degree swivel elbows they said are no longer made so I had to get by with a 45 and a straight and longer hoses. It took some figuring out for the 90s. Now this was on my C-175. Eldon from Red Square supposedly sold hoses also but he never responed to my email.
Old Dave 0 #3 Posted May 16, 2011 You might look here, they have a facility in the town I live in and that's where everyone goes to get hydraulic hoses made. http://www.tompkinsind.com/ Nice machine you have... Good luck, Dave
catman81056 3 #4 Posted May 17, 2011 You'll probably have to get adapters. The fittings are SAE Straight thread ORB. Eithe #4 or #5. If you can screw a fine thread 7/16" bolt in the hole its #4, a fine thread 1/2" bolt makes it a #5. I just did all 4 hose's on my Electro 12 $70.00. If I had to do it over, I would use the shorter 1/4" JIC hose fittings. I used the longer ones and they were alittle tough to work with. This place has them all: http://www.discounthydraulichose.com/ Example: http://www.discounthydraulichose.com/product_p/fjx-w.htm http://www.discounthydraulichose.com/JIC_3...teel_p/6400.htm http://www.discounthydraulichose.com/JIC_3...s_90_p/6801.htm I used 1/4" fittings and 1/4" hose. These are all crimp fittings, but you can get the reusable for more $$$. I have access to a crimp machine is why I went that way.

When I had my GT-14 I took a hose to a tractor dealer and he said the o-rings were SAE 5. He had adapters that converted them to pipe thread. :hide:
persof 14 #7 Posted May 17, 2011 A local shop called Applied Technologies recomended another shop as they would have to use adapters. Sence the hoses were a bit tricky to get off I will look at the other shop and your recomendations as well. Let you know who can do this Francis
shorts 182 #8 Posted May 17, 2011 go to "hose now.com" you can either have them make up the hoses you need or order the hose and reuseable fittings and make your own. Or look for a local hose dealer by mfg. Parker Hannifin, Goodyear, etc if they don't have the ends you need they can get them from their supplier.
persof 14 #9 Posted May 22, 2011 So far every place I go only have large connectors. I am concerned that if I buy them they won't fit! (twice as long as th original WH connectors) Can I convert a C161a to a manual lift? Thanks Francis
Butch 194 #10 Posted May 22, 2011 Which hose is it? Is it one of the 2 that goes to the lifting piston or one of the other 2 with 90s on the end?
Workin_Horses 14 #11 Posted May 23, 2011 I had some replacement hoses made for my c160 hydro at the local bobcat dealer. I took my hoses over there and he had real similar fittings in stock that were the right sizes. Had new hoses made in about 30 minutes. Cost me about $30 for two hoses.
