wovennut 45 #1 Posted May 13, 2011 Was looking at some new tractors and low and behold look at what I seen in this guys garage. Its one of the finest pieces of equipment I have ever seen. He built it in his spare time. He might have it at the garden show in Sugarcreek, Oh. May 14, 2011

aastonejr 0 #16 Posted May 15, 2011 To All a friend of mine posted this and i was with him when we went to Don's garage where we saw this and Don stated that he didnt build it only added a few things...just a little misunderstanding. Don does have quite a collection tho, we went up to trade a redone simplicity powermax for a couple wheel horses and was shocked when we saw the amount of tractors hes got! whlpny 203 #17 Posted May 15, 2011 AASTONEJR-Thanks for the clarification on that. I hoped that I knew Don better and it was 3rd party rumor. Hmm- I do have the picture of the 3 horses together I'll try and transfer it into photobucket. I knew Myrons dad was having an auction, he told me he probably would keep the D-4x4- I can understand maybe the novelty has worn off though. I don't think the WH forum is the proper place to post pics of the 2 "other breeds " that were built through this winter. But- if anyone wants to see them they will be for sale at the Portland Swap this coming week. Also they are in my facebook photo albums.
whlpny 203 #18 Posted May 15, 2011 Ok- success with moving a picture of the trio. This picture was taken at Kellys show last August. Its been suggested that I post a pic of the lastest 2 builds in the "other brand sections" I'll give it a whirl.

BillF1973 0 #21 Posted May 18, 2011 Awesome Horses. Do they perform as good as they look? They sure look Good! Bob I have been thinking about building an articulator for a few months. Any insight you would be willing to share? I'm not asking for all of your secrets, just a couple. Pleeeaase? bill
whfan74 2,072 #22 Posted May 18, 2011 I stand corrected..........I just talked to him recently and he is selling the D 4x4 at the auction with a reserve. He isn't going to give it away but has recently retired so most of the collection is going to find a new home. You are right........he did have a change of mind. He isn't able to get it out and show it off like he would like. By the way if I am not mistaken, it is Bob's first articulated. It is the one that started the madness and in my mind is a real piece of Wheel Horse history.
whlpny 203 #23 Posted May 22, 2011 Yup Scott is was the first one. I talked to Myron and Vernon at Portland. Sure would like to get down to the auction but work will dictate what happens there!
