SHOULD I BUY IT PART 2

Recommended Posts

WHEELMAN

first i want to thank everyones support. i found the c-160 in a craigslist

advertisement. i emailed the person asap and gave them phone numbers

and asked for a good time to pick it up. no response. i tried a dozen times at

least to contact these people. a day later i received an email suggesting i

enrole in some kind of program by which you bid for an item of interest.

this whole thing was a scam. i was upset to say the least. watch out for

this kind of stuff you guys!........thanks ed

If it looks to good to be true it probably is.

I hope your experience doesn't deter you.

The bright side... It would be worse to find out they sold it to someone else earlier that day. Happened to me for a tractor with mower and blade for $200 three blocks from me. :hide:

Or worse yet, you could have arranged to go see a 312-8 with deck and 42" blade (needs battery) for $150, driven an hour to get to it and found it sold. But I was quite happy to see the tractor in the drive when I got there. I checked it out, jump started it and paid the asking price. :disgust: Incidentally I put a new battery in that one, performed maintenance (air filter and fluids) replaced the shifter boot and it starts and runs great! Spindles on the deck were a bit stiff but they loosened up and I used it to mow the grass two days ago. And incidentally it did fine in 2nd/Hi. :)

There still are deals on CL. Good luck with your next find! :WRS:

wow..this must be a technique of the really dumb spammer! :hide:

most spammers are smart enough to figure out how to get THOUSANDS of email adresses all at once..waiting around for replies to craigslist ads nets you maybe 10 fresh email adresses a week, hardly seems worth it..people have way too much time on their hands.. :WRS:
