dmoore 962 #1 Posted May 11, 2011 Ok, a new upper steering shaft took care of the steering wheel wobble/play but there is still some lost motion at what appears to be at the lower steering shaft up front near the front axle.....when the steering wheel is rocked back & forth this lower shaft moves side to side...would this be the flanged bearing having excessive play? Thanks! D
BOWTIE 226 #2 Posted May 12, 2011 Hello, I,m new to this sight. The lower shaft has shim washers on the rear of rack. You can dropped the steering box if needed to remove the cotter pin. The newer models have a adjustment. It shows this on the Toro Parts web site. The washer/shims are 3/4" insde. Hope this helps. Bowtie in ohio
