stevebo-(Moderator) 8,590 #1 Posted May 11, 2011 Well I picked up a 417-8 from another redsquare member today. It was not getting gas like the carb was gummed up and would only idle at pick up. I noticed the fuel filter was full and did not look very clean. Got it home and unloaded it. Installed a new in line fuel filter and she runs strong. I gave her a quick bath and here she is. Truckin88 (Will) is taking the wheel weights. The deck and plow that I am selling came as part of the package. I will use this to pull the cart around the yard and then throw the snow cab on it and mount up the single stage blower tha came with it. Ed (the member I bought it from) was a real good guy and I wish him well on his next "newer" machine. Do us a favor and do not go green !!

stevebo-(Moderator) 8,590 #4 Posted May 11, 2011 After reading your post I now know how to properly fix any loose steering... This is the 3rd 417 I have owned and the second 417-8. I sold my last one to another rs member a few months ago and relly missed it. I find that the series II kohler twin 17 is a great running engine.

smoreau 658 #7 Posted May 11, 2011 Nice Score What's wrong with GREEN The grass is green, but NOT your tractor!! I had one of those green things once and had to go through the trans once a year to fix something that broke. had it for 6 years and don't miss it at all! As for my 417A Know that's one bad a-- tractor! lots of power, and looks good. as for the steering, its tight and has never been touched. By far my first choice for heavy work. pushes snow like a tank. and never is in a lack of power. wouldn't mind another :)
