Priming the Hydro on a D

Recommended Posts

OK, I have the donor transaxle in and full of fluid. Do I need to prime the lines and pump? I have tried running forward and reverse but nothing going on, the three point and deck hydraulics do not work either. Do I need to pull the plug on the side of the pump and fill it also? The check valve is closed on the pump.

All this just to move some dirt...LOL It will be worth it once its done though...

I had mine all apart and didn't need to do any priming. Manual never mentioned it. By check valve do you mean the tow valve?

edit: Did you separate the manifold from the hydro motor during your work. If so did you use the correct O rings and the special crush washer on one bolt...you maybe sucking in air preventing priming. My D200 had the wrong O rings in it among many other issues

I did seperate the system. I may need to pull it back off and double check the o-rings and washers.

Thanks.
