ScottC160 0 #1 Posted May 1, 2011 Hi guys, Ive got a starting problem with my '93 520H. The guy I bought it from had a wire run from the starter to the battery. It will start and run just fine when I cross the wire to the battery. When I connect the original wire that runs through the wiring harness up to the switch, it will not start. With either wired hooke to the starter, I still have headlights and dash lights. Im scratching my head here trying to figure out my problem. I looked at the plastic bushing and the safety switch on the PTO and they are fine. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Scott
TT-(Moderator) 1,129 #2 Posted May 1, 2011 Did you also check the neutral switch? How about the 9 pin connector between the tractor harness & the engine harness?
ScottC160 0 #3 Posted May 1, 2011 Where is the 9 pin connector located and what does it look like? thanks
SAM58 30 #4 Posted May 1, 2011 The connector is located between the air filter housing & battery. See top right of picture below. seems to be a weak point of the wiring system. my 1996 would not charge at first because of a loose connector. Also I would check your 30 Amp fuse. I had a 1992 520H that would just click. The fuse had a bad connection and would not start, all the lights worked but the fuse was not getting a good connection to start the tractor. ........ \/ CONNECTOR \/ bent the fuse connection pins in a little so it would fit tighter... worked after that.
