New Video-Wheel Horse 953 & sickle bar

Recommended Posts

oldnugly

I don't know how to link on this forum but I just uploaded a vid to youtube.com showing my 953 with 50in sickle bar in action. I think if you search "WheelHorseMDL953" that should get you there.

Yeah! Two weeks of almost daily rain so I knew it'd be slick. Was gonna wait 'til tomorrow to mow but the forecast is for heavy rain overnite. Just had to back her up about a foot and she got traction---drove it to the stable.

"Nice. What did you use before you had the sickle mower?"

With water in the ditch 10 months a year and mud the rest of the time i usually use a Weed Eater lots of work and not much fun when the line hit the water! This is much faster and cleaner too!

Man, that would do a job on my ditch!!! Always wondered how well one of those

would work, and now I know. My ditch is deeper, so is it possible to angle the

sickle up and drive along the bottom of the ditch? That way you could mow from

the top down and from the bottom up to get all of a big ditch.

Yeah Jeff. When not in use, it folds up about 90 deg and fastens to the side of the tractor with a hook and eyebolt. The PTO will work when folded so I'm sure it'd work mowing uphill. This thing is "the bomb"!

Glad to see your 953 and sickle bar mower in action!

Great of you to post this so all Red Square members can see this piece of equipment in action.

Keeps you real busy when you are mowing with that thing!
