CORRECT WHEEL PAINT

Some have said the correct paint color for wheels on a 78 C-101 8-speed is Linen Beige...but my original 78 brochure clearly shows white ones.....even the deck wheels are white...I am in the process of painting them (primed & wet sanded)......

I have a '78 C121 and painted them gloss white. They're so caked with mud right now that I could have painted them purple, and nobody would know! I'm not too fussy about the "correct" color, it's a worker and it's not rusty.....

I think that they look a little brighter (whiter)in brochures than they were. I use rustoleum almond on my C series.

Yes it does. But notice that the plastic caps on the front wheels also look white and they were an ivory color.

I like Antique White...it is just right. I have tried Almond, Gloss Ivory, and even white , that was my first tractor and the internet wasn't around then!

The factory color back in the day was Beige-Linen and used from 1984 and prior. White was used on 1982-1984 Work Horse models, silver was used on 1985 and newer. It all comes down to what you like, what you want in the end, and if it is for show or you don't care what the experts say! Try different colors and see, you can always repaint them! :thumbs:

If you dismount a tire, and the rim has not rusted too bad, you will see what color it was.

That is true. Alot of my original wheels on my tractors are more cream colored than anything else.

That is true. Alot of my original wheels on my tractors are more cream colored than anything else.

Even my '88 520's wheels were originally painted the cream color under the silver. I discovered it when I mounted my new ags last fall.
