Hey guys

A little help needed. All the numbers have been painted over. But it has a 16 hp onan w/hydro, and all the controls are on the column,nothing between the legs ,fancy lights on the dash. This guy says it's a 516H. Older units I can figure out. This one has me scratrching me head. Nothing on the the hood ect. Best guesses welcome.True knowlege ,,,priceless :thumbs:

It is a 416H, 516H would have had the hydro lever between your legs. Column controls started in the early 90's and 516H were mid to later 80's...

There are several differences between the 516 and 416.

The main difference is the 416-H has hydraulic lift and the 516H has a manual lift. The 416-H has the Eaton 1100 which is the better hydro and the 516 runs the Eaton 700....which will tell you in the owners manual to no run ground engauging equipment (mold board plow, disc, culitvator, ect). I have seen a much higher % if eaton 700 go out vs the 1100 (which is a very good tranny ).

The 516-H has a gas gauge on the dash....the 416H does not.

In the end....in my mind the 416H is a much better tractor than the 516H unless you want to just mow the grass.

.....Also, if the controls are on the steering colum....it has to be a 416-H. The 516H was made in 1988-89 and those years all of the controls for the hydros were between the legs.....the moved the controls to the steering column in mid -1990 models.

416-H. I love mine I put a snow blower and cab on mine and does a geat job!
