MalMac 1,328 #1 Posted April 21, 2011 Alright I am ready to start putting a motor back together now that I have got everything back from the machine shop. I have always just pre lube everything with oil on previous rebuilds with no problems. I was just curious what you guys use as a assembly lube.
rmaynard 14,911 #2 Posted April 21, 2011 I used a product called CRC Sta-Lube. Seemed to work fine on my K241 rebuild.
Horse-Drawn 1 #3 Posted April 21, 2011 For years I've used "Trans Gold" assembly lube. It works on everything. Imagine Lucas additive mixed with Vasoline & that's the color and consistency. I fill with oil, run everything until it come up to temp & change fluids & filters. Never had a problem with anything.

VinsRJ 721 #5 Posted April 21, 2011 I use what ever assembly lube is available at NAPA...... never had a problem. I agree with the prior statement though, start it up, let run 5-10 minites and then change the fluids.
