snowbelter 0 #1 Posted April 14, 2011 is a b-80 under powered to run a 36" tiller?
all4glh 0 #2 Posted April 14, 2011 I've seen video's of one running a tiller so I'd gather to say no.
Kelly 1,028 #3 Posted April 14, 2011 It will do it, but if the soil is hard it will work the tractor more with the small engine, a bigger engine will not have to work as hard, but yes it will do it.
Jim_M 178 #4 Posted April 14, 2011 If it's a B-80 8 speed, run it in 1st gear low range with the throttle wide open and it will do a beautiful job. I use a 308-8 to till and it doesn't work hard at all. If it's a B-80 4 speed it may be a little too fast in first gear to do a good job.

That video is owned by a member here by the name of 4starcstms.there is a lot of informing of it here on redsquare. I agree with jim
Caleb55 0 #6 Posted April 17, 2011 I've got a 36" tiller on my B-80 and it does a fine job. Even broke some virgin ground with it last year and didn't have much trouble.
JC 1965 1,528 #7 Posted April 17, 2011 If you could plow the ground first then it would be much easier to till. But if you go slow you should be okay without plowing it. Good luck with it.
