Wheel horse pulling tractors?????

Alright now to see who thinks what in this site in everyones opinion what is the most power full type pulling tractor the c160 manual tranny 4speed or 8 or the c160 hydro everyone around mn thinks the hydros pull harder????? i dont see it i would think the gear shifts would take it and be tougher???? also is there any diffrence in the c161 trannys to the c 160 if so witch is better i was looking for feed back from the the other horse nuts here> :thumbs: :wh:

Use a gear-drive tranz for pulling - preferably an 8 speed with the 8 pinion differential.

The parasitic loss and relief valves in the hydro units make them virtually worthless at competitive pulling in their stock form.

For the sake of this discussion, C-160 & C-161 models use the same transaxles.

Definitely use the 8 speed transaxle both of those tractors should have the 8 pinion in them if they havent had the transaxles changed.

A freind tried using a C195 with 26 12 12 tires for pulling What a joke the 12hp gear drives could pull the sled farther. Wasn't anything wrong with his hydro either I still have it :thumbs:

i like mine for tilling too,you can choose just the right speed,its also a bonus for the hydro lift,a real bonus for all the attachments,especially the dozer plow
