TT-(Moderator) 1,129 #2 Posted April 10, 2011 Use a gear-drive tranz for pulling - preferably an 8 speed with the 8 pinion differential. The parasitic loss and relief valves in the hydro units make them virtually worthless at competitive pulling in their stock form. For the sake of this discussion, C-160 & C-161 models use the same transaxles.
Raider12puller 1 #3 Posted April 10, 2011 Definitely use the 8 speed transaxle both of those tractors should have the 8 pinion in them if they havent had the transaxles changed.
baerpath 517 #4 Posted April 10, 2011 A freind tried using a C195 with 26 12 12 tires for pulling What a joke the 12hp gear drives could pull the sled farther. Wasn't anything wrong with his hydro either I still have it Duane
