bhough89 0 #1 Posted April 6, 2011 :thumbs: Hi RS members!I have a 1979 C-81 and the 8hp kohler is just about gone.I also have a 77 B-100 with a strong 10hp kohler but the tractor is in real bad shape.My question is can i swap the 10hp into my C-81?I know the 8hp is mounted a rubber style mount and the 10hp is mounted direct to the frame.Thanks for your info guys :wh: Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Kelly 1,028 #2 Posted April 6, 2011 That should be a easy swap, remove the old 8hp cradle and all, even the mounting blocks, the choke and throttle cables will be to short but you can remove the plastic dash with cable attached and swap them, you will have to add a little wire to the ign. wiring, are they both 8 speeds? if so the pulley can stay, on the PTO you will need the hoop and lower bracket off the B-100 everything else should fit, good luck like I said it's a easy swap couple hours and you should have it.
