PTO question

Why is the end of the PTO shaft threaded? I just put the PTO on and did not put any bolts in.

Because some applications for that engine would use a threaded shaft. The Wheel Horse does not.

The models that have a electric clutch have a bolt and washer in the end of the crank. early PTO's had a spring set up at the end to push the PTO bell away from the clutch and it screwed in the end, and other brands use the threaded hole.
