I bought this a couple weeks ago, but went to get it today, Gas prices are Killing the horse hunting  but I needed parts to build the other 1045 I have coming, both are ruff but savable between the two.

So know it looks like you have 3 of those ultra rare front tires  . Good find Kelly, and you should definately be able to make one good one outa two 1045's.

I put a bolt in the tranny drain hole on the one here and put in some gear oil and pushed it around the yard some to get the tranny lubed up. Dribbled some down the shifter hole as well which seemed to free it up some.

Gas prices are Killing the horse hunting

And it's only gonna get worse through the summer..... I'm afraid between gas and the price of scrap, Horse hunting's about to get expensive! :WRS: It was already getting bad because everybody and their brother wants to collect garden tractors now... sheesh... :D

Is it the tire on the right front thats rare? I thought Carlisle still did a tire like that, I know they do a very similar 4 incher that I was going to use on the Lawn Ranger.

Yep thats the one. I think WH only used em one year in that size and only on the 1045.

16.5.50x8 I think.

It really looks like the 8 inch tire on the back of the Lawn Ranger (although off the top of my head, I dont remember the size or manufacturer).

The fronts have the same tread pattern.

Actually this reminds me I need to find some front tires for my RJ, I'll start another thread.

actually, an old bed frame I picked up from the curb, and the first time I'd used a MIG welder for about 10 years, so it was a quick and nasty creation.

Quick? Good! Nasty? Not hardly - it works well, doesn't it? And thanks much for giving me an idea: I've got a bed frame made of the same type of steel in storage that my wife has been bugging me to take to the dump.

My buddy with the welder is about to get a call....... :WRS:

Have a great Memorial Day weekend!
