tmessenger 0 #1 Posted March 13, 2011 I checked the crank end play on my recently acquired KT17 today and it measured .012~.013 now in the manual it gives two specifications for sleeve bearing engines one is just the end play and other is call the running end play whats the difference ? tm
tmessenger 0 #2 Posted March 13, 2011 Well OK I'll try to answer my own question: The listed crank end play number of .002~.014 is the initial set up number, and the running end pay number of .0013~.0033 is the full operating temperature number ?
smoreau 658 #3 Posted March 13, 2011 I have one of these engines in my 417a and love it. lots of power and runs smooth. I think your in spec. as for end play, and at operation temp the case would expand twice as much as the crank would so end play would be more. alum, expands twice as much as cast or steel when heated up thus end play would be more. hope this helps
