farmer 1,075 #1 Posted March 10, 2011 Hello All, I recently purchased a Commando 8 for restoration, and its got me thinking about names. Imagine you were the person who worked at and your job was to name the tractors, so far youve come up with- Rangers, Commando, Raider, Charger and Bronco. Then your boss comes in one day and says, "We are going to produce three top end models 16,18 and 20hp, you got to name em". What would you chose? How about... Eagle 16 Grizzly 18 And the Bison 20 Only my nonsense

stevasaurus 22,630 #3 Posted March 10, 2011 That is way too easy... Brontosaurus, Stegosaurus, Stevasaurus, Sallysauraus, Tyrannosaurus, Raptor Farmer, if you did not know, those names that you mentioned were the names of the OLD AFC football teams. Except for Commando.

Coadster32 793 #5 Posted March 10, 2011 those names that you mentioned were the names of the OLD AFC football teams. Keeping the same theme, I'd say name one Titan. (Go JETS)
farmer 1,075 #6 Posted March 10, 2011 Interesting I didn't know that Steve, I like your ideas, one problem though. You would need a longer "hood" for..... ....TYRANNOSAURUS....REX.

SNYFIX 13 #12 Posted March 11, 2011 When Toro announced they were discontinuing the tractor we tried telling them to 'downsize it' quality wise and they'd still sell but it fell on deaf ears.

TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #15 Posted March 11, 2011 It's really strange that some auto manufacturers didn't get bent out of shape about using names like Commando, Bronco, and Charger - since they were already taken. Guess things were different back then.
n1defan 47 #17 Posted March 11, 2011 boovuc I did that once and only once. It got me a black eye.
farmer 1,075 #18 Posted March 11, 2011 I know zero about American football (except you really like to call it football ) so this out of my "league". As Chris said though, keeping to the same theme, the Titan 20 sounds spot on. Why Commando ? I would like to think it was the first "named horse" and the first to "go in"...... are the Commando's
WheelHorse_of_course 99 #19 Posted March 11, 2011 That is way too easy...
