wheel horse tractor guy 0 #1 Posted March 8, 2011 Someone just called me and asked if i would be interested in a model 1267. Question is will any hi/lo uni-drive tranny fit in this model. The guy want $200 for this one. 12 hp Motor runs great but might need a tranny he said the tranny had water and oil in it. It needs a bearing for sure. How hard is it to work on. The tractor comes with tiller attachment and a mowerdeck for $200.
mavfreak 11 #2 Posted March 8, 2011 If the tiller is nice I would buy it just for that. Its a good price IMO!
littleredrider 409 #3 Posted March 8, 2011 If I can swap an 8-speed in 2 different lawn rangers, don't see why it woudn't in a 1267.....
catman81056 3 #4 Posted March 8, 2011 If I'm not mistaken, the 1267 was the first tractor with a hi-low tranny. They called it a 6 speed (3 forward gears in each range), why they didn't count reverse until later is beyond me. Splitting the case isn't as complicated as it sounds, Getting to that stage is whats awhile( pulling the hubs can be aggravating ). Personally I would jump on the deal, everyone wants a tiller and you're getting one with a tractor and deck thrown in
whfan74 2,072 #5 Posted March 8, 2011 I don't see how you could go wrong with that deal. If the tines are in good shape and the tiller is complete, then it is worth the $200 just for that. Good luck, hope you get it!
stevasaurus 23,290 #6 Posted March 8, 2011 Sounds like a good deal to me also. I would tear that trans down and see how bad it is first...easy to do if, like catman said, the hubs come off with little or no problem. We can walk you through the trans if you take some pictures. sorekiwi 761 #7 Posted March 9, 2011 I kind of aquired my 1267 by accident, but its probably turned into my favorite tractor. Sounds like a good deal to me.
wheel horse tractor guy 0 #9 Posted March 9, 2011 Thanks guys i will be picking it up tomarrow. The guy said that the tranny worked fine before he opened it up to replace a bearing then noticed water in the tranny now he says it's up to the person who wants to buy it. To me it's worth buying it just for the tiller attachment. I'll get it and redo the tractor when i get some time right now i'm working on my d-180 with loader. I ordered parts from a rs member just waiting on them but thanks for responding guys.
