Must have a Kohler 12hp right? Parts for these engines are easy to find. The Charger 12 is a good stout tractor thats similar to a C-120 auto. It has a Sundstrand transmission.

If you have the model# of the tractor you can enter it at the toro site and get a parts breakdown for it. I think the Charger 12 was built for 5 years.(1968-1972).

The Toro site is great for the overall machine but doesn't list engine parts. Check out www.kohlerplus.com/main_frame.asp, Log in as a guest and by working through a couple pages you can get part #s for your specific spec #. Then check out some of the parts links listed on this site. I think you'll be surprised how many Kohler parts are still available.

PartsTree.com also has all the Kohler engine listings.

Prices are listed for all available parts.

I love my 69 Charger. Compared to the C120 Auto I had it is very comparable.

The mower deck and mule drive design is better on the C120 as compared to the side pulley PTO on the Charger. I did improve the deck performance it by adding another anti-scalp roller underneath.

The PTO lever arrangement is not quite as nice on the Charger, but it works.

The push pull throttle/choke is inferior, but that can easily be fixed be replacing the dash with the newer lever-style controls.

By the way, most parts are interchangeable with the C series, so parts are not a big issue. Some parts are the same as the 300 series!

Overall I like the Charger because it is older and made in the same decade as me!
