CasualObserver 3,411 #26 Posted May 17, 2008 Where's Dustin on this one? I'm pretty sure he has a carpeted Wheel Horse room in his basement.

linen beige 15 #29 Posted May 18, 2008 Wow, thanks for the warm welcome! And, I read "ceramic tile"- flooring is my trade, so if anybody needs any advice or info, shoot it my way and I will bore you for hours. Glad to be of help! Hodge, My first paying job was helping my uncle in his ceramic tyle installation business. I'm talking the type of work he learned in the '30's, metal lathe, hand mixed "mud", hand floated CONCRETE walls. None of that sissy backer board for him! I was really just kinda joking about permanently using this room for my 'horses, it will likely get carpet. I do plan to tile the 17 x 12 utility room next to it. The wife and I want to move into a larger house with a little more land and a good sized garage/work building. Scott. When I say N-scale model train layout room, I'm talking about a true model railroad. I plan to build a pretty elaborate (lots of scratch built features) layout with scenery along the lines of the mountains just to our east, using the "Clinchfield" for inspiration. With a few hundred peices of rolling stock, it would take half the day just packing them up to fold a track board. I could easily build it on a viewing level high enough to fit a couple tractors under it though. I did that in the garage I shared with the first wife. Jim, This is true mine wouldnt fold up either, itd take forever to pickup all the buildings (mines a small switching setup, designed to be like a industrial district in a big city ... ) BUT you could mount it on tracks that'll raise it up towards the ceiling ... that way you could drop it down when you wanted to enjoy it, and raise it up to keep it out of the way, and help keep it cleaner Im sure. The only problem that I can see, would be the backgrounds ... I think I forgot this before...Hodge ...
