mrc 727 #1 Posted February 25, 2011 hello everyone, i recently got a wh with a transplanted 20 hp onan engine in it. i was using it for snow clean up when the tractor no longer moved. i found the drive belt had slipped off the engine pulley and was laying against the engine block. i used a pry bar and managed to get it onto the pulley. i noticed on my 416-8 that there are 2 belt guides. the upper belt guide on the 416 is at the 11 o'clock position and the lower belt guide is at about the 5 o'clock postion. how many belt guides should be on this onan powered rig??? and where should they be??? thank you. mike in mass. wizard 0 #2 Posted February 26, 2011 Mike the 20 onans came with and without depending on the tranny. There should be 2 belt guides on it one at 11 and the other at 7. The one at 7 comes up from the motor plate and the one at 11 comes down from the pto engine mount .
