dgjks6 8 #1 Posted February 20, 2011 During my restoration I am working on the electric. I have all the wires figured, but the previous owner bypassed the seat switch and the pedal switch. I have a seat switch, and I know where the wires for the pedal switch are, but where does the pedal switch go and what does it look like? A pic would be great. Oh yeah - its a 1981 c85

Oh yeah - its a 1981 c85 don't have a picture but the pedal switch goes on the clutch side of the tractor, when you push the clutch pedal in it engages the switch there should be a hole in that area that the switch fits in. I personally don't like them they tend to go bad and be a problem but that's your decision
dgjks6 8 #3 Posted February 20, 2011 I want to put all the saftey switches back in. Hopefully the kids will be the ones using the tractor the most. I found the part number for the switch, but I still can't figure where it goes.
C-Series14 15 #4 Posted February 20, 2011 If you look at your clutch pulley on the rear right side of the hood stand, you will see a plate above the pulley. That plate hits the button on the switch when the clutch is depressed. That should tell you where the hole is. I can see it in you latest pics on the restore post you have... JimD 3,347 #5 Posted February 20, 2011 Greg, here's a few pics of the clutch safety switch. I hope they are clear enough to show the detail you need. The first pic is with the clutch dissengaged. The next one shows the the engagement arm in a more forward position, about half way to engagement. The last pic is fully engaged. I now remember what a PITA it is to take off the belt guard.
