How big of an engine will fit under the hood-520H

I am considering a 520 that will probably need a new engine. I see that Small Engine Warehouse uses 23HP Briggs twins and 24HP Hondas for their conversions. I found a 22 and a 25HP Kohler Command engine. Has anyone used these? Are the Kohler Commands still good engines?
