Kevin Lipscomb 1 #1 Posted February 6, 2011 I have look though here attachments interchange. I have a 520H and was wanting another tractor. From what I have read C,300,400 series are the same as the 520H. I have seen allot of C125's-C145's around here for sale. Can I used my attachments on the C,300 and 400 series unit? I would used the second tractor as a yard tractor, tow a small trailer and just use it around the yard. Thanks.
Sparky-(Admin) 22,253 #2 Posted February 6, 2011 Most attachments that fit a 520 will fit a C-145 type tractor but NOT all. The 60" deck offered on the 520 only fits the 520 with the swept axle and a plow plade off a swept axle 520 will be to long with the frame extention. But snowblowers, tillers, and the rest of the WH decks out there will fit just fine. Mike.........
Kevin Lipscomb 1 #3 Posted February 6, 2011 Thanks for the reply. I guess the 60" deck will only fit the 520 swept axle only like you said. As far as the blade fitting a 300-400 series would it work? Or is it too long off of the 520 also. I have a blade for the 520, that is why I am asking. I planned to leave the 60" deck on the 520 to mow with, but would like to put the blade on the 2nd tractor. can whlvr 993 #4 Posted February 7, 2011 some blades ahd the extension kit,so maybe u can take it off, might have to play with the lever too
Kevin Lipscomb 1 #5 Posted February 7, 2011 Thanks for the help. I will start looking for 2nd mower now. Like I said there are some C series around here for sale. I think I would like to have a 300-400 series though. The C series seems like that most of the fiberglass fenders and hoods are always crack or missing, but if I fine a good one I would not let it pass. I have a front blade, rear blade and snow thrower for my 520H. Two decks also. 60" and a 48". I just plan to used the 520H for mowing only. I am from central MO, so the snow is not too bad, so a lower HP engine would work with the snow blower and if we get a big snow like we had last week, then I can just put the snowblower on the 520H for the extra HP. Thanks again, Kevin Lipscomb
can whlvr 993 #6 Posted February 8, 2011 only the 80s cs had fiberglass,my 1975s and 1978 are metal rears, not that it matters, the 80s cs are great tractors, and the 300,400,500,series,gee there all great
Kevin Lipscomb 1 #7 Posted February 8, 2011 Yes they are all great tractor's. After I have been looking, seen some work horse's also. Guess they are the same frame as the 300-400 series also. I just wanting one that I can used my attachments on [expect the 520H blade]. But think I can make that work too. After I remove the snow with the snow blower it warmed up and the ice started to melt, didn't want to take the snow blower off and put the blade on. The blade is out in the shed and with this weather it is hard to get too....so if I have another tractor I would put the blade on it for winter too.
can whlvr 993 #8 Posted February 9, 2011 thats the way to think,a horse for every attachment, and its ok to have even more than one for each attacment
Kevin Lipscomb 1 #9 Posted February 9, 2011 LOL yes never can have too many Wheel Horses...... I had 3 520H until last spring, sold two of them. Wish now I would of just sold one of them..LOL. One ran pretty good, the other needed some work and I had just had a back injury. Doc's thought I wouldn't be able to do what I used too....but with the help of the good Medical we have in the good old USA, I will be able to do allot more than what they thought...Now I am back at playing with them again.......once it in your blood, it stays.... SAM58 30 #10 Posted February 9, 2011 1320n8 Where are you located? I have a 54" blade that I might trade for 520H blade. mine works on the 300 400 series, It is a little rough I was going to restore it but the snow came and I have been using it all winter. Kevin Lipscomb 1 #11 Posted February 10, 2011 I am really not wanting to let anything go, just wanting more of the RED. LOL. I will be looking for a tiller. Also wanting "potato plow". That is what I call it. Goes on the sleeve hitch, has one shank that goes down about 4-6". I can make one of them, but have seen some around for a fair price. Will keep looking. dgjks6 6 #12 Posted February 11, 2011 You can take the brackets off the 520 blade and it will fit perfect. The handle is a different story. The handle for the 520 is bent backward so you can reach it with the extension kit on. The regular handles are bent out instead of back. You can use the handle from the 520, but it does not quite sit in the right place. The correct handle is only about $20.
Kevin Lipscomb 1 #13 Posted February 11, 2011 The blade I have now is off of a older Wheel Horse. A friend of mind bought a new 520H back in 96. He had a Ranger I think, so made this blade fit the 520H. So it would not be a problem going back the other way for the C's, 300-400 series tractors... or even finding another 520H for what I need. That way I would not have to change anything as far as the blade.
