can whlvr 994 #1 Posted February 6, 2011 so i mentioned in someone elses post that i bought some belts at the local bearing shop, they didnt tell me that the belts that i bought were not suited to be used on flat idler pullies, after burning up one in one day i went to our local auto supply store, not a napa, individualy owned and the guys that work there have been there for years and seem to know there stuff,so i order a belt,a67(wwhich is 69 outside)and the guy asks what its 4,i tell him and he says u need to run a special belt,it was twice the amount as the regular a67,so i put it on today and what a change,my thrower never slowed down, yes its on the c160 and that motor has balls, but this was day and night,i will never use a cheap belt again,i use only oem for drive belts but who knew foe attachments,so i think it is money well spent,it was 32 dollars,up here in ontario things are more expensive than in the usa

stevasaurus 23,276 #4 Posted February 11, 2011  I can feel your pain Don. I had just got my Ariens snow blower running before the big snow a week ago, thinking between this and the horses with blades, I would be OK. Got her running and decided to check it out...started blowing a little snow and picked up this little piece of concrete which jammed and broke the welds on the barrel. With the snow and the wind and the cold, it was the weekend before I could weld it back up. It is fixed now and I am waiting for the next big snow so I can break something else.
squonk 43,785 #5 Posted February 11, 2011 That's what snow is for. It's for us to fix and tinker and go out in the cold and do it again! I'm getting to the point where I over kill everything. Case in point, I've put roller bearings at the pivot bolt for my blade adjustment lever! This year I've been lucky. Just minor adjustments and tweaks. Built wheel weight mounts on my rear wheels to use barbell weights. Now I catch my leg on them when I walk by. Going to work on my fronts next to mount some weights off the rear of my 210-H next.
