Pollack Pete 2,273 #1 Posted February 1, 2011 Has anyone here put bigger tires on the front of a D-160? They came with 18x850x8.They look kinda small.Any ideas? Thanks for any info.
kyhorse 1 #2 Posted February 14, 2011 I just realized my D-180 is actually a D-160. I was looking for new front tires- upgrading from old turfs it had when I bought it. Have you noticed that all the 4 and 6 ply are golf cart tires? Anybody try those? I put skid steer for rears on yesterday- obviously I will be pulling with mine, but no test run yet. Any info, let me know.
Trouty56 567 #3 Posted February 14, 2011 I got some 5 rib tires for mine. This is my best photo of them.
dgoyette 12 #4 Posted February 14, 2011 I have 20 inch turfs on a D-180. No problems...I would go for it if you need to replace them anyway. EDIT: My bad they are 18"'s that I have. Thought for sure they were bigger. I have not run bigger than 18".
kyhorse 1 #5 Posted February 15, 2011 Thanks for the info. After some research I decided ribs were the way to go. Where did you get the 5 rib and how many ply are they- all I could find was 3 rib. I will be using my tractor for clearing food plots, so I want the toughest I can afford. And while we are on the topic, what is the spindle size? I need to buy from rims too. My tractor is 200 miles away so I can't just go look. Great looking tractors in those pics!
