Todays haul

I went a picked up this 701 from a friend who has been liquidating his wheel horse collection to me as I can afford them. It has been almost completely restored, new paint, rebuilt motor, new dash, it does need a few things to be complete....thumb screws(PM haasman  ), choke cable, bearing grease caps (what color??), decals, and the last and most difficult/expensive part to find is the double pulley belt cover :banghead: . I also got a complete L155 Lawn Ranger that i'll probably sell. My plan was to pick up a pair of D200 tractors and a bunch of attachments but when I contacted the owner about them he said wait until spring so I went and got the 701. I have a split key ignition switch I would like to put in this is that what these had originally?

It needs a wash but that will wait until it gets warmer.

Nice 701 :banghead: ! Good luck finding the belt cover. I had a 701 a few years back and yes, it uses the split ignition key.

Nice haul, good luck on the belt cover, the wheel grease caps should be beige you can still get them from Toro, should have the split key, and a push button for the starter, orig. style choke cables are hard to find, but ones to fit very early Jeeps are close.

Thanks for the help on the grease caps...I checked in the photo gallery and none of them had caps that I could see I was starting to think they didn't use them. Kelly: do you have a picture of the choke parts so I can try to see if I have something around here that looks right.

I still have to send Glen a few pesos for mine, with an order. I decided on red after trying different paint can caps to see what color looks best.....I found a nice pan seat on Eek Bait and I have her ripped down right now to replace the draw bar cable lift.

Keep the photos going k? :banghead:

I asked the same thing about the engine...he said he thought there was a little too much red so he decided to break it up with a black motor (he forgot to paint the starter though). I talked to him about the double pulley cover and he said he could make one for me but it would take a lot of cutting, bending, welding and some bondo to get it done but it kinda looks like that is my only option, I have seen his repair work on his RJ35 that had a rusted out hood and frame and it looks great so I think he can pull the belt cover fabrication off if I can't find one to buy. He can make about anything, he built a cub cadet forklift (for getting ZTR mowers in the shop easier), mini pto driven manure spreader, mini Case DC tractor to pull the spreader, and he is currently making a Gator from a round hood :banghead: that had a bad frame. Next time I will take my camera and get some pictures of his home built stuff.
